MAN. I THINK ABOUT IT. OK, SO, THIS NEEDS A PROPER FULL EXPLANATION FOR YOU TO TRULY UNDERSTAND THE MINDSET EDEN WAS IN

it all came to a boiling point when they finally hit "the end" of the game. the final boss. they were getting ready to fight engel, with eden far past her limits before they had even started. she was dissociating hard because she hated every second of this but knew that she Had to do this. it was her role. reverie had made it so clear to her this was all she was made for.

she was dissociating hard enough she didn't think very hard about it when the menu for the save file opened up in front of her. in a daze, curious, she saved over reverie's file. and immediately it began to glitch. it was small, but it was glitching, but reverie (who hadn't noticed) was calling her over to start the fight, and she figured they could figure out what was wrong later, if it even mattered since there was a great chance the game was about to end anyways

eden began dissociating even harder than she already had been, feeling like she missed out on half the fight immediately. reverie was yelling at her to do Anything while barely dodging engel's attacks. eden could barely feel the sword in her hand as she held it up. she didn't remember moving closer to engel, and engel.... didn't seem to notice her at all. it was so. painfully easy. to lift up the sword. and cut off their head.

eden had never seen reverie so happy. they hugged her, spun her around, laughed, she'd never seen them so Genuinely Happy. so maybe it was ok... she was truly honestly just happy they were happy. she was so happy it was over and she could finally rest.

but the game didn't end. not the way reverie expected.

the menu that popped up only offered reverie 2 choices. continue. or start over. there was no option to leave. there never was an option to leave. reverie is just as part of this game as any of the npcs, they had just refused to see that until now. this game is the only reality they have and it was never going to let them go.

so. reverie began laughing. collapsed onto their knees laughing hysterically with no emotion behind it. and before eden could even begin realizing what happened, reverie pulled up handfuls of files of the code and Destroyed It.

the game started fully collapsing from the inside out. the room they were in began losing textures, they were falling and then they weren't, eden felt sick in ways she couldn't begin to describe, it felt as if the world itself was screaming in her head as it shook and flashed trying to keep itself together. all while reverie kept laughing and destroying more of the code.

somebody had to stop them.

eden needed to stop them.

she shoved her sword fully through their chest. she didn't have a choice. they seemed so surprised and confused, just for a moment, staring at her with bewilderment. but painfully, the laughed again, pulling her hands closer to them, shoving the sword even further through. It Didn't Matter. They Both Knew This Didn't Matter. the game would just bring them back. just like every other time. she knew that right? this didn't change anything.

so they kept laughing, eden frozen in place with panic, and they both Waited. and waited.

reverie coughed up blood and couldn't hold themself up anymore. nothing happened. they fell to the floor, sword still in their chest, as eden stepped back in shock. nothing happened. they desperately opened up their save file trying to figure out what was wrong (nothing happened) and they discovered exactly what was wrong (nothing happened) as they read the name on the file and found it wasn't theirs anymore

right as both reverie and eden processed what had just happened, the game exploded behind their eyes. it was trying to load a save that didn't exist anymore. it couldn't bring reverie back because they didn't have a save anymore. but it had to bring them back. but it couldn't. it caught itself in a loop and everything Screeched like metal on metal, or like a dying animal, as it began to completely unravel itself. then everything went black.

now the nico chants??? please. she's CHANTING WITH THEM. in full “fan turned management” mode. she's got her phone out recording the crowd like:

Han was never the early bird type of person. That is until he walked in on you sleeping peacefully, one autumn morning.

The night before, you had invited everyone for a barbeque night. You have taken your final exam of the semester, and even if the results are yet to be announced, what matters the most is that you passed. That alone deserves a celebration party. You also welcome whoever wants to crash the night. But everyone ended up playing games until 3 in the morning when one by one, they fell asleep in the space of your apartments.

You were the last one standing, tidying up the room a bit before you passed out on the couch. You were too tired to move to your own room, despite it being unoccupied.

Han wakes up a little after 7 with a congested nose. The combination of autumn air and the air conditioner is fatal, especially when he accidentally falls asleep on the floor of the guest room with nothing but the stolen bed cover under him.

He walks out of the room to see the aftermath of last night's party, feeling a headache just by seeing the state of your apartment. He walks past the mess to boil some water. The basic remedy for a congested nose. The pot was starting to boil when he turned and leaned on the kitchen counter. His eyes caught your figure, all curled up on the couch. He smiles to himself. Thinking about how cute you look, with your nose scrunched, just like a little kid during one of those sleepovers.

You stir in your sleep, dragging Han back to reality.

On another occasion, Han came in early to the studio, wanting to finish one of his songs. Chan informed him the night before that you might be around early too, since you're working on a project.

However, he didn't expect to walk in on you sleeping on the couch of the recording room. This time you're wearing a much more warm attire, sweatpants, and a black hoodie. You even have a fabric draped on you as a makeshift blanket.

He doesn't have it in him to wake you up, so you asked the staff if he could borrow another recording room. He watches you sleep as he waits for the staff to prepare another room. Wondering what kind of dream are you having.

Fast forward many coincidences later where he gets to see you in your most peaceful state, only to realize that it's not normal to watch your friend as they sleeps and feel your heart ache with such longing.

"Hi," you spoke softly as you slowly awaken. "You're staring again."

"Good morning, love," he said, pressing a kiss on your forehead, smiling. "How's your sleep?"

"Better now that you're here," you answer. Your smile blooms quicker than your eyes fully open.

Han was never the early bird type of person, but even if he wakes up 5 minutes earlier than you, it's enough for him to get all the energy he needs for the rest of the day.

So, I did actually go ahead and alter this cc to be something I could use in my gameplay like I said. Well, okay, I forgot and just did it yesterday (several days ago now - instead of the game crashing it was the driver for my new graphics card that flaked out every time I tried to record this damn video). But still...done is done.

I do need a third recolour, though. Just couldn't come up with one off the cuff. There is the last line of the last chapter to lead the way, but what follows/will follow isn't really on the same level as the anthems already lined up for Daytona and Rich. (Rich may not be fully aware of his but he'd hardly dispute the sentiment...)

Oh, yes, the point: Open to suggestions for a third song. A bit ambitious of me to ask but, hey, you never know. Left to my own devices will probably have to resort to making a few options for Valentine, but any use I'd put those to is so far off in the future I'll surely forget.

i've said this before but: i, personally, am *not* looking forward to any TES remake made in Unreal. i think it handles certain physics and lighting aspects much, much worse than Havok, the engine that original Oblivion uses [and technically also Skyrim, though heavily modified by that point]. i think UE5 is likely to kill a lot of the charm and unique feel of Oblivion, and i'm a lot more hopeful about things like Skyblivion. i've never loved an RPG made in Unreal, and Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time partially because of the versatility of Havok. obviously i could be wrong, and honestly i hope so! but given bethesda's track record [and microsoft in general, which is their parent company], i think it's likely to be a lot... flatter than the OG.

So Ive been thinking about this constantly for the past few months. It's definitely possible the remake won't match the "vibe" of OG Oblivion. That concerns but as well. Half of Oblivion's charm is how janky and lowkey..bad? It is 😭 Thats not a knock btw! Games and genres often become DEFINED by their flaws despite their positives! Skyrim is awesome but id bet one of the first things the average gamer remembers about Skyrim is the ridiculous "giants hit you so hard you fly into space" bug. For Oblivion it's the absurb (and endlessly memed) behavior of it's NPCs.

I wouldn't be shocked if the outsourcing studio drops the ball as Oblivion is a huge and clunky game to begin with. Even a remaster would be hard to do. That said, all negativity/optimism we can have at this point is wholly based on leaks and assumptions so it's fair to reserve final opinions until we actually get a real look at the remake if/when it releases.

I will be honest and say I'm personally cautiously optimistic about the remake since as charming as the OG is, it's a technical and unoptimzed mess beyond the memes and charm of silly physics glitches. I love OG Oblivion! I also want to be able to play it without having to do a bunch of mods to (try!) to make it work on my PC.

IMO literally all the remake/remaster would need to do is improve things like draw distance, get rid of the absurd CPU restrictions the OG has, and make Oblivion run stable on modern hardware.

I've talked about it before but id very happily accept a 1 to 1 port of Oblivion for modern hardware if all they did was ensure the game ran smoothly. I've genuinely only been able to have a single full playthrough of Oblivion, and that was on the xbox 360. He'll I'd take a Switch port of Oblivion if it was in HD at least. I just want a stable game experience that doesn't require me to have an old dual core CPU or try a bunch of janky 12 year old INI tweaks and memory patches.

I've tried probably half a dozen times to get the game working on PC with the necessary performance patches/stability fix mods and I *still* can't get the fixes to last thru an entire playthru before some stability issue major quest bug forces me to quit.

Morrowind has OpenMorrowind which makes the game fully stable and playable on modern hardware (like my phone!) Daggerfall has Daggerfall Unity which has innumerable improvements and also allows the game to be played on modern hardware with little issues. Skyrim has been ported to everything except apple smart watches and is playable basically everywhere with only moderate stability issues.

Oblivion is the *only* semi-modern mainline TES game that is super jank out the box and doesn't have some "fixed" version that allows it to be playable and stable on modern hardware. If something like OpenOblivion existed, an official remake/remaster wouldn't be necessary

I will reiterate the super frustrating CPU restrictions the PC version has unless you use mods to circumvent them. Game literally will start crashing on you if you have a multi core CPU. Old games tend to have technical problems like this, but given almost every other mainline TES game has a safe and stable version that exists for modern hardware, its not fair that Oblivion gets ignored in this matter. We deserve a permanent and officially fixed version of Oblivion, be it a remake or a remaster. We shouldn't just rely on mods and fan projects to fix old TES games.

Daggerfall is another good comparison since yes, by remaking Daggerfall in Unity you DO lose some of the original game's charm, but you also gain a shitload of stability and graphical improvements which make the game accessible to modern gamers.

In lieu of a fanmade Oblivion project in the vein of OpenMorrowind/DaggerfallUnity, Oblivion NEEDS a remaster or remake to make it accessible on modern hardware. Skyblivion is cool! But it still looks like Skyrim with different architecture. That's not a knock on that project, it's just true since it's literally the Skyrim engine. In the same way Morrowblivion looked like Oblivion despite being a "remake" of Morrowind into Oblivion's engine. Skyblivion is a FULL remake of Oblivion (with some changes from what I understand) but we still deserve an official Oblivion remake/remaster.

Skyblivion doesn't negate an Oblivion remake and an Oblivion remake doesn't negate Skyblivion. If anything they compliment each other since they each would be doing things the other isnt/cannot do.

An Oblivion remake/remaster might suck (or it might be great!), but regardless of our feelings on the matter, its simply true that the OG grows less and less accessible the further we get from it's release 19 years ago...We deserve to be able to play Oblivion on modern machines. I hope the remake allows us to do that (and that it comes out to begin with lol)

car crashes and windmills, or why supernaturality is just an excuse for the events of Petscop

READING-THIS WARNING: THROUGHOUT THIS, THERE IS AN ASSUMPTION YOU HAVE SOME IDEA OF RELEVANT PETSCOP THEORIES. IF ANYTHING DOESN'T MAKE SENSE, YOU'LL PROBABLY FIND A WRITE-UP OF THE THEORY ON REDDIT. ALSO, I'M BAD AND MAY MINSINTERPRET OR NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING.

Alright. Petscop. That's a dead kid.

I've spent about two days running down a rabbithole with this series, trying to ignore the sheer horror of it all. It's fascinating in the way it captures this despite being so metaphorical - it reminds me of Yume Nikki and Chapter 12 of Dreamscape, which as we already know, I love and understand very well.

Anyway, I've been reading nonstop theories about this game for some time, trying my best to make sense of it all. And after a few sleepless nights, I think I'm ready to get into analytical about Petscop.

What better way to get rid of that sinking feeling of horror than to write about it?

I don't believe in the supernatural - I probably never will - but instead I believe in the power of coincidence. It's very probable that strange things happen sometimes, but they can all be explained, and we have a tendency to see patterns in the chaos. Things are often more simple than they seem.

Obviously, because Petscop and the world surrounding it are fictitious, the potential that something irrational or out-of-this-world occurred is much higher. However, I want to demonstrate that the idea that it is all reality is far more horrifying than pretending it's all a few ghosts and time travel.

The series clearly draws on the idea that Paul knows (some of) the people mentioned within the game, and is even implied to be a part of the family himself.

If it's not ghosts and time travel... then what's the point of Petscop?

evaluating some petscop theories that imply reality

Paul alludes several times to the game being haunted, or at least it trying to trick him into thinking it's haunted, but he seems unconvinced. He also alludes to the possibility of AI within the game, which is likely too complicated for the game being developed in ~1995-6.

What is a more likely theory surrounding both of these is that a singular game can be accessed from multiple consoles by multiple players, which also explains the prevalence of DEMO recordings and the interactions between Marvin/Belle/the Pink TOOL and Paul. The Pink TOOL is not literally the ghost of Mike trying to communicate with Paul, but rather Belle (considering the handwriting's similarities to Draw Mode) communicating with Paul.

Paul could potentially be Care, but is suffering amnesia as a result of trauma inflicted on him, where the goal of the game (from Rainer's perspective) is to help Paul uncover the truth of his past. There's plenty of debate surrounding the "trans theory" that I'm not really interested in getting into, but the game definitely links Paul and Care, particularly in the "Care-with-Mike's-Eyebrows" room, as well as events in the house aligning with events Paul states he has experienced, and their exact same birthday. I don't know if I agree with the twin theory, but that itself is more plausible than other proposed supernatural theories linking the two.

Both Belle and Care are implied to have been kidnapped (by Marvin?) and forced to undergo some sort of rebirthing therapy (potentially involving the Needles Piano) inside an abandoned elementary school. The rebirthing is implied to be Marvin's attempt to bring back the late Lina, It's possible that the DEMO recordings of Belle are taken during her kidnapping, as the game has reportedly been left on for ~17 years.

Much of the confusion surrounding Lina's death is related to the windmill - how did it and Lina simply disappear, and why is she "unable to be seen"? However, the game makes regular references to car accidents, and Lina's grave says "They didn't see her", which suggests that perhaps she was hit by a car, unseen by the driver, and buried in an unmarked grave (possibly by Marvin, since he knows where it is). Alternatively, the idea that Lina died stuck in a machine within the windmill still alludes to reality.

The game itself is very deliberate, and after Mike dies in 1995, it seems as though Rainer continued it to expose Marvin ("I started it in 1996, for Marvin"). If we consider the possibility that multiple players can access the game from differing perspectives, and the game can track their movements, then Rainer had different purposes for each player. It's suggested that the game reflects real world places, so taking that into account, we can try to determine the purpose of these.

During the segment where Marvin is given a speed boost, it seems as though Rainer wants to know the location of Lina's grave, and perhaps expose Marvin for his kidnapping and child abuse. He also provides deliberate messages to Belle during her demo sections, seemingly trying to break her out of the Newmaker Plane. Paul's journey also seems to surround exposing what Marvin has done, or at least trying to highlight what is in the School and what happened to Care (who may be Paul himself). These goals may correspond with the 'cycles' that were noted in the Comprehensive Progress Document.

The game is also implied to be an elaborate suicide note - the Pet description for Care A ends with, "Fuck you all, and fuck me as well. Merry Christmas. Check your bathroom now.", which is signed by Rainer. This, along with some events in the House, suggest this game might be an exploration of Rainer's guilt over working with Marvin on the rebirthing process.

Time is particularly prevalent during the game - the colours of the calendars representing different years, for example - but it is still distinguished, which is to note. This suggests that time travel isn't necessarily occurring.

reality as a pathway to trauma procession

Allusions to reality in texts can act as a path for characters to begin trauma procession, which may be the intentions of deliberately connecting Paul and Care within Petscop. The idea of things being realistic is infinitely more horrifying that unrealism, because unrealism forces a disconnection between the viewer and the events unfolding.

This is actually the reason why I really dislike the idea that Basil was dream-sharing with Sunny, or Spirit Mari is literally Mari's spirit trying to communicate with Sunny - it's because it misses the presentation of forgiveness, abandonment and regret in the text. Stranger is a representation of guilt over leaving Basil behind, and Spirit Mari is a representation of Sunny's hidden desire for forgiveness.

Taking things as the supernatural in this type of game tends to make you overlook the purpose of their existence. For example, blankly taking the Pink TOOL's words as Mike from the grave misses the discovery that they are Belle's previous attempts to connect with the outside world.

It's easy to miss the finer details this way, which is why I've always disliked these theories. There's more to it, keep digging!

Alright, guys. So from what Kyle told me, the plan goes as follows: While you all go down there and take on Kelso's eco-crime syndicade, I'll stay up in the air and shoot down any enemies from here. I have a mounted sniper cannon on this chopper that will automatically shoot any bad guys that it sees, and the targeting systems have been modifed so it won't shoot you guys. Don't worry about me crashing this chopper, the gun's fully automatic.

Alright, everyone. You know the plan, now let's go.

(Charles drops us down onto the enemy base, then quickly flies up. With Charles' aid in taking out the bombs, we quickly rush in and begin taking things out.)

I remember when I was a kid seeing some guy's top ten worst Crash Bandicoot characters and Nina being there. Think it was mainly due to her personality in the Titans games being changed to bratty nerdy teen archetype. But I also remember same person saying her introduction in Twinsanity also didn't have a personality. The game is defs unfinished, but I honestly disagree with that.

While she doesn't have any dialogue from the VA not having time to record much, Nina is a pretty gloomy kid who's mischievous and playful going off her level Rooftop Rampage. There alone she pranks her uncle with a fake doll head, is shown playfully skipping, and is pretty chill with the whole situation of breaking out of school just to fix Cortex's computer to go dimension-hopping (also him potentially killing her principal but eh). There's also the concept art where she's having a blast in the tenth dimension, but I digress. I definitely agree she needed more development, but don't agree she was just a blank slate just for being mute in the game. It feels like it was a byproduct of skimming the wiki when ngl the section on her personality there is not fully correct imo.

Their favorite place in the system is the Stranger, but their favorite planet is Dark Bramble, which probably tells you all you need to know (Dark Bramble is the least changing planet in the game- once you know where things are you're set)

I think, they get two possible endings- one is from a fic I wrote, where they're the hatchling that ran to the Stranger, and the other... is one of two fics focusing on them I'm working on.

Taco Truck AU!Chrys is young enough they're still staying with an older Hearthian- Quartz, another OC who's rude and mean and not good at their job and i love them. Chrys is working part time at a brewery in Giant's Deep and part time at a tattoo parlor- they like tattooing, but they really gotta work on their people skills.

Chrys became a Character mostly for fic 2 of the two I'm working on for them- using 'the hatchling' gets bulky but it's something not in character for Granite or Graphite to do, so. Chrys.

Second hatchling is Potch! Who came into being because I sent a paragraph of writing to Buddy Feef and got several all caps replies about how Chrys is Mean To Gneiss and Potch is going to play an interesting flute. If the sun hits their skin right, their freckles have just a little bit of iridescence around them. (Potch is part of opals)

Potch needs to have a plan of some kind before they do things, even if it's a really bad plan, but, after a minute of panic they can come up with a new plan on the fly. And they tinker with things- not big things, like, they get Slate's help with big things, but like their flashlight/scout/translator. Potch's translator is specifically hooked up to their ship to record everything with is a really cool detail I wish I came up with months ago to explain the ship log better.

Taco Truck AU!Potch does tech repairs! They're also young enough to not be on their own fully yet, but, we're not sure who they're crashing with- I'm leaning towards an otherwise unknown intraspecies couple (Hearthian and either a Nomai or an Owlk. Or a throuple, honestly)

If you were the loud obnoxious meme type, hed still try to watch out of curiosity, and as much as he appreciates that you were getting comfortable here in Devildom with how you laugh and joke around, he still can't approve of it. Before streaming though, Levi was incredibly nervous, he'd picked the games for you to play that he knew you would enjoy with him, but his mind kept racing about whatthe fans thought, he didnt wanna disappoint them

He obviously adores it, although some streams he wouldnt join just so he can play games on his own

He's still an introvert afterall, he needs his alone time

So when youre about to go stream, he kinda becomes a bit pouty, but with a simple promise of kisses (and maybe even more if youd like) he would let you go, but his attention would disappear from his game altogether.

He might just end up watching you instead

May or may not, at some point, just chat you and ask if its too late to join you

You do allow him to join you and play from the comforts of his room as both of you can simply play via internet, you give him the comfort to not turn on his mic or webcam either and you have no idea how he appreciates that.

Although the comments would often get to him, and as much as he can fight them online, he still does find himself pondering if they were true, so you need to give him a lotta lovin and reminder that he is your player 1 and no one else can ever fill that place.

Thoughts on James Gunn taking over DC films?

You are the first person to ask me about all the twists and turns related to DC of late. Disappointed in the rest of you, are my hot takes on the latest gossip not why you all keep coming back? Well let's jump in, first up a minor character I have more than a passing interest in: Superman.

Five years, two major Superman projects meant to reboot the character, and... we end up right back with Cavill. Hamada's departure cleared the way for Cavill to return as the "main" Superman, with the help of the Rock of course. Between Jim Lee and the official DC Comics/Superman social media accounts welcoming Cavill back, and the trades putting out that WBD is eager to get another solo Superman film starring Cavill up and running, the Abrams/Coates project is all but dead already. No need for a new reboot if you're going to keep using the guy the previous regime planned on replacing, especially since they've passed on everything Abrams was working on thus far. Plus Hamada seems to have left on very bad terms, he didn't even take a production deal to smooth his exit, and he was the main backer for this project, I doubt Zaslav has any intention of greenlighting whatever Hamada projects in development that are left.

How do I feel? Well cautious would be the right word. I've made no secret of the fact that I thought Snyder sucked and I'd rate Cavill's acting as "wooden" at best. Perhaps with a new director and scriptwriter all the people who hail Cavill as the definitive post-Reeve Superman will finally get something they can point to in order to convince me, perhaps not, he did say For Tomorrow was his favorite Superman story - and if that's what he chooses to adapt with his second chance I fully expect him to crash and burn yet again. However he also mentioned wanting to fight Brainiac in old interviews, and his last pitch for a solo with MacQuarrie was rumored to essentially be Superman and the GLC teaming up to fight Brainiac. Lose the GLC and I'd be game, at this point all I want is an Aquaman tier Superman movie. Something fun that makes a billion and gets DC to greenlight more interesting Superman projects on the comics side (and maybe we could even get a video game too). Adapt Johns Brainiac arc which lets you use Sasha's Supergirl too, and I think it's possible to make a Superman movie that reviews well and crosses the billion dollar threshold at the box office.

My hunch is S&L will get to keep running until MoS2 is ready, which I predict will be in 2025. Two more seasons then for S&L, for a total of five, which isn't a bad run at all for the show. Maybe Hoechlin will even get to show up in a film adaption of CoIE if that ever happens, he deserves it without a doubt.

Oh and I guess the Rock wants to have a Black Adam vs. Superman fight. Look just use Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam as your foundation for that and it might be entertaining at least. I predict Black Adam's overall box office return to be around $500 million (maybe $600 million if it releases in China), enough to keep Johnson in the game but not enough to make him the center the way he wants. Not sure how that will affect things going forward but hey, the new DC head - or at least one of them - loves B and C-Listers, maybe that will work in the Rock's favor.

Gunn taking over is not a move I was expecting but it makes sense. He's a comics guy who has a good track record with adapting characters others would write off as worthless, and Safran is there to keep him in check so he doesn't run wild. If you're a fan of the B and C-Listers at DC this is great news, Gunn shares your affection and is a guy who actually reads modern comics. Just recently he gushed over Tom King's Strange Adventures mini, which might not be a good thing depending on your views regarding King, but it shows that he loves the source material and has respect for the actual creators who are making the comics. Upside for me is I think we will get a Bloodsport miniseries which makes me happy, and lots of comics creators were very happy at this news, which is an encouraging sign.

Regarding Superman specifically I'm not thrilled. Gunn does not seem to have any interest or affection for the character, it's hilarious the Snyder cultists hate Gunn so much because he and Snyder are of one mind when it comes to using Superman. Gunn too wanted to use a mind controlled evil Superman for The Suicide Squad, and that's hardly the kind of guy I want in the exec suites deciding which of the Superman scripts to go with for Cavill's second solo. No doubt that if Gunn had been calling the shots, he would've saved Batman: The Caped Crusader and sent My Adventures With Superman out to be shopped around, he's the type to greenlight Noonan's over Wonder Woman: The Animated Series, I'm not holding my breath on Gunn pivoting away from the overreliance on Batman. One point in his favor: given he wanted to make a Krypto movie (admittedly because he found Superman's dog more interesting than Superman himself) we're probably going to get League of Super-Pets 2, with the first movie being something I enjoyed and wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to. I think he's also friends with Grant Morrison, maybe he'll reach out to Morrison for advice regarding Supes which would be the best possible way this could play out.

Zaslav was said to not be planning on giving up all that much power per old reports. He wanted a Feige but didn't intend to let that Feige do as he pleased, Zaslav would still be involved. Given the Trinity were specifically called out as brands he wanted to grow separately from the DC brand as a whole, my hunch is Zaslav will continue to be hands on in anything involving the Trinity. Gunn will get more freedom with the rest of the DCU, but those three are going to need Zaslav's approval for anything major.

For better or for worse it seems WBD has found a new direction for itself, having tossed the old roadmap out. As we approach Superman's 85th I just pray the stuff I'm interested in survives and the new guys in charge are less shitty in their handling of the character than the old regime was.

Friday Update #6

It's already Friday! Time to show y'all what I've been working on for the last week.

I've been trying non-stop to implement a fully functional turn system along with some other useful features, like a game settings panel with "Return to Main Menu" and "Quit Game" buttons. And for the most part, it all seems to be working!

The built-in screen recorder didn't want to record both windows at once, which might be for the best this time. I may have gotten a little carried away with adding new code, so the project is a buggy nightmare right now, with issues including but not limited to:

- When you draw a card, your opponent also draws a card. - The turn counter doesn't seem to be iterating properly. - Doing the one pre-game action required by the game crashes it. - Trying to play more than one card in a turn also crashes it.

Basically, I'm gonna spend a while debugging and making everything work before moving on to the next stuff. Speaking of which, Spring Break is starting for me! It's gonna be nice to relax for a week, but it also means that there probably won't be a major update next Friday. Maybe I'll brainstorm possible names for this project.
